Location Information
Naxos is the perfect island for sun- and sea therapy, also to find your own place, your own part of a beach along the west-, east- and south coast. It is a perfect island to explore by foot, by a rented car or by one of the local buses. It is a perfect place to explore by strolling around in the OLD TOWN, where you have the Old Market Street with a big variety of small boutiques and touristic shops as well as cozy bars and taverns, museums and the Venetian castle or just walking along the seafront parade street, out to Portara, a part of the temple for Apollon that still stands by the harbor, watching the spectacular sunset and after to sit in one of the OUZERIAS, being served octapus and kalamares from the grill, a fresh seafood salad, local wine or ouzo. During spring- and autumn month, guided walking tours in the mountain areas are arranged by the community of Naxos. Tours around the island by bus or sailing boats are organized by different tourist offices.
